Harry J. Secaras is a Shareholder in the Chicago office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. concentrating his practice in traditional labor and employment law. Harry has more than 30 years’ experience advising, counseling and representing employers in collective bargaining, arbitration and employment matters and in claims brought before federal and state courts and agencies. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for his representation of Management in Labor and Employment matters, and named an Illinois Super Lawyer for more than 10 consecutive years.
Harry joined the Hellenic Bar Association in 1990 and served as its President in 2003-2004. He currently serves as a legal advisor to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago and has served on the Parish Councils of the Three Hierarchs Church in Champaign, Illinois and the St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Palatine, Illinois. He holds BA, MBA and JD degrees from the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana where he was a founding member of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Fellowship.
Harry and his wife Maria reside in Wilmette, Illinois and are proud parents to three children – John, Lauren and Cindy. John, an associate at Winston & Strawn, LLP, recently was elected to the HBA Board and is a past recipient of a HBA scholarship. Lauren is pursuing her Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a focus on sports psychology at Michigan State University, and Cindy is a Speech Language Pathologist in Hawthorn School District #73 in Vernon Hills, Illinois.
