Perry began his career by practicing commercial and intellectual property (IP) litigation at DLA Piper LLP. In 2005, Perry joined Abbott as Counsel and progressed to Division Counsel, IP Litigation. He eventually became Divisional Vice President and Section Head, IP Strategy. When AbbVie separated from Abbott, Perry joined AbbVie serving as Vice President, Biologic Strategic Development and Legal Regulatory. Before advancing to his current role, Perry held several positions at Abbvie, including Senior Vice President of Legal Transactions and R&D/Alliance Management, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, and Deputy General Counsel.

At Abbvie, Perry is a champion of diversity and inclusion. He has spearheaded AbbVie Legal engagements with Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms. He is also the executive sponsor of the ABILITY Employee Resource Group, which supports and advocates for employees with disabilities and employees who are caregivers of people with disabilities.

Perry earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from George Mason University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Brigham Young University. He maintains strong ties with his alma mater by providing two endowed scholarships at Brigham Young University: one for law students, and one for students in athletic programs.

Beyond his professional achievements, Perry is President of the Glenview Concert Band, a community band in the northern Chicago suburbs; a supporter of St. Basil’s Academy in Garrison, New York; a member of Leadership 100; a member of the National Hellenic Society, where he serves on the Advisory Committee; a member of the Panhellenic Scholarship Foundation, where he sponsors an annual scholarship; and a supporter of the National Hellenic Museum.

In 2019, Perry was invested as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, conferred with the offikion Archon Hieromnimion. He is exceptionally active in serving the national organization of Archons as Vice Chair of the Archon Youth Participation Activities Committee, a founding committee member of the Archon’s Pilgrimage of Discovery program, and chairman of the program’s alumni committee. He is also a Founding Member of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation.

Perry is a steward at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Palatine, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville and St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church, Virginia. He also dedicates significant time and resources to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago, including as Co-Chairs of the Stewardship Task Force of the Metropolis, and as legal advisor to the St. Iakovos Retreat Center Board of Directors.

Through his outstanding volunteer efforts, Perry has paved the road for the organizations and programs he supports to succeed in serving the Hellenic community and the general public.
