On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the HBA will host the 5th Annual Celebration of the feast day of St. Dionysios Areopagites, patron saint of judges and lawyers. The HBA will present the St. Dionysios Areopagites Distinguished Service Award to Eleni Katsoulis.
This award honors those who have provided extraordinary legal service to the Hellenic Orthodox community and expanded access to justice to the underserved.

ABOUT ELENI
Eleni Katsoulis is being honored with the St. Dionysios Areopagites Service Award for her extraordinary legal service, leadership, and dedication to the Hellenic Orthodox community.
Eleni is a founding member and Secretary of Hellenic Legal Assistance Services (Hel.LAS), the first pro bono legal clinic of its kind in North America. Since opening in 2016, Hel.LAS has assisted nearly 500 Greek, Greek-American and orthodox families, with Eleni personally providing immigration support while overseeing the clinic’s volunteer attorneys, intakes, and caseloads.
She also serves on the Hellenic Bar Association Foundation and has been an active leader of the HBA for more than 15 years, including as the youngest president in the organization’s history. During her tenure, she helped raise more than six-figures in scholarship funds for deserving law students and mentored dozens of young attorneys.
Beyond her HBA contributions, Eleni has served for over a decade on the Board and Junior Board of Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, where she has been honored for her pro bono work. She was also recognized by Law Bulletin Media as one of the “40 Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch.” Professionally, she is Senior Counsel at AbbVie, where she provides strategic counsel across more than a dozen pharmaceutical brands.
Eleni resides in Northbrook with her husband Evan and their three children—Stella, Teddy, and Dimitri. Together, they are active stewards of Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church in Lincolnshire.
Eleni’s career and service reflect her deep commitment to justice, mentorship, and uplifting her community—values that embody the spirit of St. Dionysios Areopagites.
