Pamela Visvardis Savvides

President

Pamela joined ComEd in 2025 as Assistant General Counsel, where she oversees the legal aspects of capital projects. Her work includes ensuring regulatory compliance, managing contracts, and providing legal guidance throughout each project’s lifecycle. Prior to joining ComEd, Pamela was in private practice, specializing in real estate, property tax, and corporate law.

A proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Pamela earned her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2011. Her involvement with the Hellenic Bar Association began during law school, where she was an active member and HBA scholarship recipient.

In addition to her long-standing commitment to the HBA, Pamela volunteers with Hellenic Legal Assistance Services (HelLAS), is an active member of the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC), and is deeply involved in her church community at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

Hon. Frank Andreou

President-Elect

Hon. Frank J. Andreou is a Judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County and assigned to the Law Division, Trial Section, where he presides over cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death. Frank was sworn in as an Associate Judge in 2020 and as a Full Circuit Judge in 2024. After being licensed to practice law in 1995, Frank tried more than 50 jury trials to verdict; has written more than 70 appellate briefs and has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court and 7th Circuit Appellate Court. Frank is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court, Northern District, the Seventh Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Katerina Alexopoulos

First Vice President 

Katerina Alexopoulos works for the Department of Homeland Security as an Assistant Chief Counsel. Prior to that, she worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County for over five years, where she was assigned to the appeals, narcotics, felony review, and preliminary hearing divisions. She graduated from Chicago-Kent in 2013 with a Criminal Litigation Certificate. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University in Political Science in 2010.

Dimitra Anderson

Second Vice President 

Dimitra earned her J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law, her B.S. in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is also a CPA. She advises families in wealth preservation and succession planning and all aspects of gift, estate and income taxation. She represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate and trust administration. She advises parents and guardians of minors and disabled adults, including special needs planning. She also serves as court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in guardianship proceedings.

 

Themistocles Frangos

Treasurer 

Themistocles P. Frangos is a solo practitioner practicing Intellectual Property law, with a focus on transactional issues in patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Themis. earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he coaches the Saul Lefkowtiz moot court team, and his B.S.E in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. Themis is the current Supreme Counselor of the Order of AHEPA and chapter president of Chicago Lakeshore Chapter 205. He also serves as Parish Council secretary at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago.

Efie M. Vainikos

Secretary 

Efie is Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Discover Financial Services with over 23 years experience in corporate governance. Efie has sat on the HBA Board of Directors for 15 years, and is an active member of the organization. She has chaired the Scholarship Selection for over 10 years. 

 

Angelo Tzivas

Corresponding Secretary

Angelo Tzivas is an Associate at Gould & Ratner LLP, where he primarily focuses on complex litigation cases. Angelo has worked in the areas of general civil and commercial litigation, labor and employment, civil rights, corporate, administrative law, consumer protection, construction, torts, school law, and real estate. Angelo previously served as an Assistant Attorney General, whereby he oversaw all aspects of civil litigation and conducted several trials and arbitrations, achieving an outstanding record of success.

Angelo received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Illinois Chicago, where he served as Speaker of the Undergraduate Student Government, Vice President of the Student Bar Association, and class representative. Angelo is a past recipient of the HBA scholarship, and has been an active HBA member ever since, notably serving on the HBA Board of Directors and overseeing the Young Lawyers Committee.

Angelo serves on the UIC Alumni Board and is a member of the Alumni Advocacy Committee, in addition to the DuPage County Bar Association’s School Law Section as Chair. Angelo is a UIC Law alumni mentor, and regularly meets with law students to help them navigate their journeys toward becoming attorneys.

Lia Kasios

Law School Liaison

Lia Kasios serves as Senior Corporate Counsel at Encore Global, a global event production company, where she provides legal support for all commercial transactions with a focus on commercial contracts. Since beginning her legal career in 2011, she has built a diverse practice across in-house corporate roles and private law firms. Her industry experience spans food and beverage, energy, and event production, with a primary focus in commercial contracts, employment law, and consumer law.
