2026 VASILOPITA PARTY
The celebration will take place on January 28, 2026, from 5:30 PM-8:30 PM at Greek Islands Downtown Chicago (200 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60661).
This event is free for HBA members who renew their 2025 membership on or before the event! Non-members can attend for $25. Admission includes appetizers and vasilopita. Kindly RSVP by January 25, 2026.
CLE EVENT: NON-PARENTS IN PARENTAL ROLES: WHERE TO FILE AND WHY
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28 | 12:00 – 1:30 pm
Grandparents, step-parents, and other relatives are often placed in the role of parent/guardian for minor children. To carry out their “parental” responsibilities or to protect the minors in their possession, these non-parents often need to seek court intervention and are presented with several options, including:
- Custody in Domestic Relations Division
- Guardianship in the Probate Division
- Order of Protection in the Domestic Violence Division
- Adoption in the County Division
This CLE will discuss the strategy and procedure you will need if a non-parent seeks your guidance.
